A man has been charged after a brawl between two motorists at a busy Auckland intersection last month.
On November 26, emergency services were notified about the broad daylight altercation at the intersection of Ward and Clark Sts, New Lynn.
Dashcam video posted on social media showed a black hatchback pulling in front of the cars waiting at the lights, blocking the intersection.
Another person in a car at the lights then gets out of his vehicle. At the same time, the man in the hatchback exits his car and approaches the man waiting at the lights. The men proceed to punch and kick each other for about 20 seconds before they both return to their vehicles and speed off.
On Tuesday, relieving Waitematā Area Commander Insp Jason Edwards said a man was before the courts over the "disorder".
"As a result of follow up enquiries, both people involved were identified and a 23-year-old male has been charged with wounding with intent to injure and will appear in the Waitakere District Court in due course," Edwards said in a statement.
It is unclear what happened prior to the footage that may have triggered the fight.
