Ten people have been moderately injured in a crash in Ōtautahi / Christchurch on Saturday afternoon.
It happened shortly after 1pm on Riccarton Road, according to a spokesperson from Hāto Hone St John.
"We have assessed and treated 10 patients, all in a moderate condition," they told Newshub.
Two people were taken to hospital, while paramedics treated the other eight at the crash scene.
A police spokesperson told Newshub they were notified of the crash at 1:13pm, with what appeared to be three vehicles involved.
Police also confirmed on Saturday that one person has died after a serious crash in Whakamaru, a 30-minute drive from Tokoroa.
It comes after the summer holiday road toll officially started at 4pm on Friday. The period runs until 6am on January 3.
