Firefighters are battling a fire that started in a rubbish truck in Auckland's Half Moon Bay on Friday afternoon.
It's unclear what started the fire, which broke out on an Auckland Council rubbish truck at about 1pm.
A Newshub camera operator at the scene on Pigeon Mountain Rd said there was a cloud of thick smoke wafting around the area.
Firefighters had to dump the truck's contents on the ground in order to try and put out the flames.
One fire truck remained at the scene as of 1:45pm.
Whakaratonga Iwi/Fire and Emergency has been contacted for comment.
