A person has died after crashing into a tree in Kaipara on Wednesday.
Police said the single-car crash happened Paparoa-Oakleigh Rd, Taipuha at about 3:10pm.
A police statement said the car left the road and collided with a tree. The driver died on the way to the hospital, the Thursday morning statement added.
An investigation has been launched by the serious crash unit, police said.
