A staff member has been assaulted during a robbery at a petrol station in Auckland's Papatoetoe.
Police responded to reports of a robbery at the Mobil petrol station on Cavendish Drive at around 6:16am on Sunday.
"Four males assaulted a staff member before taking items and leaving the premises," a police spokesperson told Newshub.
"A stolen vehicle believed to have been used in this robbery has been recovered."
A spokesperson for the petrol station told Newshub the man who was assaulted by the group of men was taken to hospital due to his injuries.
"He went to the hospital and has been discharged now, he is just resting at home," Mobil spokesperson told Newshub.
"No one was with him in the store this morning, he was working alone when it happened."
Police enquiries to locate the four offenders are ongoing.
