A body found by members of the public in dense Ōtaki Gorge bush is confirmed to be that of Duncan Hill, police say.
Hill hadn't been seen since October 5.
Last Monday, a body was found and police said at the time it was believed to be Hill.
Det Snr Sgt Dave Thompson confirmed on Tuesday it was Hill's body. The death wasn't being treated as suspicious.
His family had been informed and the death had been referred to the coroner.
"Police extend their condolences to his loved ones at this difficult time," Thompson said.
