Customs has seized 18kg of cocaine found in unclaimed bags at Auckland Airport.
Customs said its officers were alerted to the unclaimed backpacks which arrived from North America.
A search uncovered bricks of cocaine in the backpacks, weighing a total of 18 kilograms.
Customs manager Auckland Airport Paul Williams said this seizure shows the "brazen behaviour of some criminal groups that hide amongst the crowds".
He also warned there's an ongoing trend of cocaine being sent from the Americas.
Anyone with suspicions about drug smuggling behaviour is asked to call Customs confidentially on 0800 WE PROTECT (0800 937 768) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
