A person has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash on Sunday afternoon that has closed parts of a major Wellington road.
A police spokesperson said emergency services are responding to a single-vehicle crash on Victoria Street in central Wellington at just before 1pm.
One person is in a serious condition and is being transported to hospital, police confirmed.
The serious crash unit has been notified and the road is closed from Willeston Street to Harris Street.
"Motorists are advised to use an alternative route," the police spokesperson said.
