Police say they are still searching for missing Gisborne man Joseph Ahuriri, who has not been seen since Cyclone Gabrielle hit nearly a year ago.
Ahuriri was last seen on CCTV filling up his white Toyota Hilux at the Waitomo Fuel Stop at Bay View, near Napier, on the same morning Cyclone Gabrielle struck.
"The discovery of the Bay View CCTV footage has been part of an extensive CCTV canvassing phase in the investigation into Joseph's disappearance," Insp Martin James, of Hawke's Bay said in a statement at the time.
"This phase has been complicated by the fact that a lot of CCTV in the Hawke's Bay area was not working at the time due to power failures."
The search for Ahuriri has been extensive with GNS scientists searching the Eskdale region with a magnetometer drone system. The results of that search are due to be released next month.
Navy divers were also deployed to search parts of the coastline.
In May last year, police shut down speculation that Ahuriri was with another person at the petrol station.
Police said they continue to remain in close contact with Ahuriri's family and continue to work hard to locate him.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact Police by calling 105 or going online to 105.police.govt.nz using ‘Update Report’ and referencing file number 230225/2804.
