Police are giving an update on the double homicide investigation in Gisborne.
Over 100 people were involved in a brawl in the Gisborne suburb of Elgin at 11:30pm on Saturday.
Two people died at the scene while another three people, aged 21, 30 and 45, were rushed to hospital after the fight.
A 29-year-old man was due in Gisborne District Court on Monday facing a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detective Inspector Dave de Lange is due to speak about the investigation at 4:30pm.
