The movements of gang members are being monitored in Christchurch on Friday, police say.
Senior Sergeant Michael Jones said in a statement officers would have "a visible presence" around Woolston suburb and were "working to ensure there is no illegal activity on the roads".
Woolston is home to the headquarters of the Comancheros gang, members of which from all over New Zealand have gathered on Friday - including the national commander, Stuff reported.
"Police are monitoring and actively policing the movements of the Comanchero gang in Christchurch for their event today," Snr Sgt Jones said.
"No incidents of note have been reported at this time."
