Heavy rainfall and strong winds are set to pound parts of New Zealand on Tuesday, with forecasters warning of the potential for flooding and slips.
The storm stems from an atmospheric river heading for the country, expected to trigger a "major weather system".
It's prompted MetService to issue heavy rain and wind warnings, with the potential for these to be upgraded to rare 'red' advisories.
"This is expected to be a significant heavy rain event for Westland, with potential for an upgrade to a red warning over the coming days," MetService said.
"However, there is some uncertainty with the movement of this front and the placement of heaviest rain may change."
