Police are investigating an "unexplained" death in Dunedin, where it's believed the person may have been at the scene "for some time".
In a statement on Wednesday, police said the body was found on Garfield Ave on Tuesday.
"Initial indications suggest the deceased may have been at the scene for some time," police said.
"Investigations are in their infancy as police are working with ESR [forensics] and a scene team to remove the deceased for forensic pathology examination."
Formal identification is yet to take place.
