The Migrant Workers Association says Immigration New Zealand is "migrant bashing" by implying more migrant workers are committing crime.
The claims have been based on what officers have seen in the field, rather than official data.
It comes as migrant workers joined protests to mark International Workers Day.
Hundreds of union members filled the streets in downtown Auckland on Wednesday - stopping their work to protest against changes to workers rights.
Unions are fighting against the reintroduction of 90-day trials, minimum wage increases below inflation, and public sector job cuts.
And among those protesting were migrant workers, but they say they're not just up against it in the workplace.
