One person has died after a serious crash in Russell, Northland on Wednesday morning.
"Emergency services responded to the crash, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Russell Whakapara Road, around 10:35am," a police spokesperson said.
The pedestrian recieved critical injuries and died at the scene of the crash.
"Police extend our condolences to their friends and family at this difficult time."
The Serious Crash Unit attended and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
