Two teenagers have been found guilty of murdering Joshuah Tasi in the Auckland suburb of Beach Haven.
The pair were on trial this month over the fatal stabbing of Tasi, who was killed in March 2023.
It took the jury 24 hours to decide the two teenagers were guilty of murder.
The court heard how the pair, who were 17 and 14 years old at the time, chased down Tasi after he had yelled at them for blocking his van in at an intersection.
The older youth then stabbed Tasi with a knife from the driver's side while the younger one went in on the passenger side.
Tasi received multiple wounds in the ten to 15-second attack, but only one was fatal - delivered from the right to the heart.
The prosecution successfully argued the pair acted in unison and were equally guilty no matter who delivered the fatal wound.
They got out of the car together, took their shirts off together, attacked together then one or both yelled "that's what you get when you come to Beach Haven" before they fled.
The pair are now 19 and 16 years old.
Several members of their families wept for minutes after the verdict was delivered and shouted out to tell them they loved them as the pair were led away.
They will be sentenced in July.
