Train services on Auckland's Eastern Line have been halted due to a fallen tree near Meadowbank.
Auckland Transport has confirmed all services between Waitematā (Auckland CBD) and Ōtāhuhu have been suspended.
Services are continuing to operate between Ōtāhuhu and Manukau.
Travellers are being urged to check the live departures board for up-to-date information.
Buses will accept train tickets to and from affected stations.
Fire and Emergency is assisting with clearing the tree and requested power be turned off to the overheard lines, a KiwiRail spokesperson said.
Neither Auckland Transport nor KiwiRail had an estimated time for when services will be resumed.
"Around 9.30am this morning we received reports that a tree in Meadowbank had fallen across the overhead electric wires on the Eastern Line," a KiwiRail spokesperson said in a statement shortly after midday.
"The overhead wires along most of the Eastern Line had to be turned off, stopping commuter services.
"Fire and Emergency and KiwiRail’s team are on site. We cannot give a timeframe for reopening the line at the moment."
