Emergency services are responding to a three-vehicle crash involving two trucks and a bus south of Hamilton.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson told Newshub four ambulances, one manager, and one rapid response vehicle were at the scene, assessing 24 patients.
One person is in a serious condition and is being transported to Waikato Hospital and another in a moderate condition is being treated at the scene.
The remaining 22 are in a minor condition and are not being transported for medical care.
Police told Newshub that Kakaramea Rd (State Highway 39) near Finlayson Rd, in Ngahinapouri, was currently blocked.
"The road is blocked and diversions are in place at the intersections of SH39, Tuhikaramea Road, and Ngahinapouri Road. Motorists are advised to expect delays," police said.
The crash was reported around 9:45am.
Police said the Commercial Vehicle Safety Team (CVST) will conduct a scene examination.
