Police have charged a 34-year-old woman in relation to the large building fire in Auckland's Parnell last month.
"She has been charged with arson and is expected to appear in the Auckland District Court on Saturday 25 May," Snr Srg Chris Allan said in a statement.
"Police would like to thank the members of the public who assisted with our enquiries and contributed to this result."
Fire and Emergency (FENZ) crews were forced to block off access to St Georges Bay Rd, coming off Parnell Rise when a lodge was engulfed with flames on April 7.
At the time, the neighbour of the property told Newshub she was sitting down to watch TV for the evening, when she "smelt smoke and heard commotion".
"We went out to the balcony and saw a barrage of smoke and flames from next door," she explained.
She said she watched on as the roof of the building collapsed.
"Us and our neighbours were in shock at how large the fire had gotten, we have been watching from a safe distance, and making sure it didn't move close to our places."
The woman told Newshub it looks like "it's a difficult fire to put out" and said it's caused "a lot of damage".
No one was injured in the blaze.
