A man has been arrested after allegedly indecently assaulting three women on an east Auckland bus route over the past six months.

All incidents were reported on bus route 70 running between Botany and Britomart, police said on Friday.

Officers scoured CCTV footage to identify the 51-year-old Clover Park man, who was arrested earlier this week.

He was charged with three counts of indecent assault relating to alleged incidents on November 9, 2023, when he boarded in the city; March 8, 2024, when he boarded in Panmure and May 21, 2024, after boarding in Pakuranga.

Det Snr Sgt Dean Batey thanked the three women for coming forward so police could investigate.

"Anyone commuting or using public transport should be able to do so safely and not be subjected to the behaviour experienced in these cases.

"I hope this arrest brings people commuting on this route some reassurance."

Police said officers were still investigating and could not rule out further charges being laid.

Anyone with more information is urged to phone the police on 105 or make a report online.

The man is in custody and is due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Friday.
