The road remains open.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another person has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after a minor crash in Manukau.
Two vehicles collided around Lambie Dr just before 5:30pm, a police spokesperson told Newshub.
The two drivers stopped on nearby Druces Rd to exchange details - but one of them suffered what police believe to be a medical event.
"Emergency services attended the scene and the driver has been taken to Middlemore Hospital," police said.
