A heavy vehicle crash has closed State Highway 1 south of Rauma Road near Taihape.
A heavy truck and trailer unit overturned on the highway around 5am, police told 1News.
They said nobody was injured.
The crash has blocked the road and New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) told motorists to expect delays, advising them to follow the directions of on-site emergency services.
No detour is available, however NZTA suggested State Highway 4 as an alternative route.
Another update is expected later this morning.
