One person has died in a serious multi-vehicle crash in Auckland's Beachlands.
The crash, involving three vehicles on Whitford-Maraetai Rd, was reported to police around 6.35am on Monday.
Police at the time said people were badly injured.
In an update on Monday afternoon, police confirmed one of those critcally injured had died at the scene.
"Police extend our condolences to their loved ones at this difficult time," a statement said.
Two other people were reported to have received injuries ranging from moderate to minor and were transported to hospital.
A section of the was road blocked while emergency services responded to the scene, however it has since been cleared and reopened.
"The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing," police said.
