Several Napier businesses have been evacuated after a bomb threat, but police say the scene is safe and the culprits have been found.
Officers were told a bomb threat was made to a business on Taradale Road about 10am on Sunday, Detective Senior Sergeant John McCarthy said.
"The business itself and those neighbouring [it] were evacuated with the assistance of staff at the businesses."
Police then cleared the buildings and declared that there was nothing of concern present, McCarthy said.
"Police would like to thank the staff at these businesses who did a good job and the exact right thing given the initial report."
Officers investigating the incident identified three young people believed to be responsible for the threat, McCarthy said. They were spoken to and referred to Youth Aid.
