A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Auckland's Mt Albert on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the crash on New North Rd shortly before 5pm, near Ballast Ln, a police spokesperson said.
"At this stage west-bound traffic is down to one lane, however police will provide further updates should any closures be put in place."
Motorists in the area should expect delays.
The serious crash unit is investigating, police said.
