A person has been seriously injured in an assault in Auckland's CBD overnight, with the offender still at large.
Emergency services were called to Customs Street, near Commercial Bay shopping precinct, around midnight.
Newshub footage from the scene shows police tape blocking the footpath.
An officer at the scene told Newshub one person had been seriously assaulted and police are investigating.
Police told Newshub the person was transported to hospital in a moderate condition.
"Enquiries remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what has occurred including who is responsible," police said.
