Police investigate two overnight Auckland shootings

Investigations are underway into two shootings in Auckland overnight.

Officers first descended on Ahuwhenua Cres in Onehunga at 10:30pm on Wednesday where a bullet hole had been left in a garage door.

"Thankfully, no injuries have been reported in relation to this matter," said Det Snr Sgt Martin Friend, of Auckland City.

"The persons believed to be involved have left the area prior to police arriving."

About an hour and a half after the Onehunga shooting, officers locked down Haddon St in Māngere East - where another property had been shot up.

No injuries were reported, Det Insp Shaun Vickers said.

"A number of bullet holes were located in the house and scene guards remain in place," he said in a statement.

It's unclear if the two shootings are linked.

Anyone with information on either shooting was urged to contact police on 105.
