Police have confirmed they are investigating the death of an infant in West Auckland.
Emergency services were called to a home in Rānui just before 8am on Tuesday.
Forensic police remained at the property carrying out investigations in the evening.
Police said no arrests have been made and the death is still being treated as "unexplained".
"[We] are still awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination as part of our enquiries," a spokesperson said.
