A chemical that leaked from a truck in south Auckland on Monday afternoon has not yet been revealed by emergency services.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) were deployed to contain the chemical spill in the Auckland suburb of East Tāmaki, with the report of the leaking truck received shortly after 1:20pm.
Six fire trucks and specialist appliances were at the scene, while fire officers wearing hazmat suits were seen trying to contain the spill. A section of Neales Rd at the intersection with Bruce Roderick Dr had been cordoned off.
FENZ has yet to confirm what the chemical was, but those nearby said it had a very strong smell.
