Signed as a teenager on the Dutch SEG Racing Academy professional team, Strong emerged as a world-class talent on the track with a team pursuit gold medal at the 2018 junior world championships.
He took the next step in his progression with victory in the senior points race at the world championships, also helping New Zealand to silver behind Denmark's world record in the team pursuit.
On the road, he finished third and first young rider in the 2020 NZ Cycle Classic, and went one better this year, claiming overall and youth honours.
