At 8pm on Sunday, 13 October, 1985, Arthur Easton and his sons Brendan and Kim were spending a quiet night in their Papakura home on Grove Road, when they were disturbed by an intruder.
After a fight involving all four men in the hallway, the intruder escaped down an alleyway next to the house. Brendan and Kim were taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds; Arthur would bleed to death in his hallway.
Grove Road is a true crime podcast about the murder of Arthur Easton and the arrest of Alan Hall, a man who had no alibi or answers. But it's also a story about New Zealand's justice system, the power and trust we give to police and prosecutors, and their ability to find the truth.
