Lianne Dalziel has won the Christchurch mayoralty.
This will be Dalziel's third term as Mayor.
Dalziel has a clear majority with 44,811 votes currently, beating out the twelve rivals for the position.
She has been mayor of Christchurch since 2013.
Christchurch Councillor Deon Swiggs has lost his seat amid accusations of inappropriate behaviour.
In September, a formal complaint was laid against Swiggs by a youth group who allege he sent them inappropriate messages.
The three complainants were aged between 13 and 21 and allege the messages spanned three years.
One of the complainants, known only as Josh, told RNZ's Checkpoint Swiggs made him feel "incredibly uncomfortable."
The investigation is continuing.
