David Seymour has unveiled his new Party mascot - a crochet humanoid doll he has dubbed Freedom.
Seymour revealed ACT's strange new symbol on Monday morning, as he prepares to tour the country campaigning in the lead-up to the September election.
Created by candidate David King's wife, Freedom is a small, brightly coloured doll with a pointed gnome hat and legs striped in the ACT Party colours of pink, white, yellow and blue.
Seymour gave reporters the rundown on his new mate, telling them the doll is a good allegory for the party itself.
"Freedom has two eyes for seeing, a nose for smelling - but evidently no ears, which possibly is a disadvantage for Freedom because ACT is always listening," Seymour said.
He continued on to say the doll does not have a gender as of yet, and also does not have a mouth.
"This is possibly a design feature, but possibly Freedom is just very efficient and doesn't require a lot of sustenance."
"Freedom wears the ACT badge proudly and we think Freedom is going to be a wonderful accomplice on our tour."
