Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield will update New Zealand on the four recent cases of COVID-19 community transmission in Auckland.
Auckland entered COVID-19 alert level 3 at midday on Wednesday after four members of the same family tested positive without a clear link to overseas travel.
The rest of the country went to alert level 2.
