Green MP Chlöe Swarbrick has been tested for COVID-19 after developing a "sniffle".
Swarbrick posted a video on Facebook showing her getting a nasal swab on Friday afternoon.
"In the typical course of a day, a sniffle wouldn't mean much. And while it still probably doesn't, COVID-19 requires care and caution."
"So after talking to Healthline New Zealand today, I went and got a test. If you're feeling a bit out of sorts, you should too," the Green MP captioned the video.
She also praised New Zealand's frontline health services, and urged Kiwis not to be scared of the test.
"Video for a 20-second exploration of an area of my nose I didn't previously know existed, and proof it ain't that bad. Ka pai to our frontline health services," Swarbrick said.
She's not the first Green MP to be tested for COVID-19.
In August co-leader James Shaw tested negative for the virus after developing minor cold symptoms after a trip to Auckland.
"I am pleased to have received a negative result by health authorities today," Shaw said at the time.
"While the test was precautionary, it's important that we all take any symptoms seriously and undertake a test if it's suggested by a medical professional."
There was one new case of COVID-19 announced on Friday. It was linked to the Mt Roskill Evangelical Fellowship Church sub-cluster.
