Jacinda Ardern says she's "certainly not" thinking of political retirement just yet and is still "committed to the job".
The Labour leader appeared on The Project on Monday night, just five days before election day.
She was asked by guest host and former National Cabinet minister Steven Joyce if she's considered when she might retire from politics.
"Is this a last-ditch attempt to get me to exit the race?" she jokingly asked.
"Certainly not now. For me, I'm absolutely committed to the job I'm doing and I want to do everything I can to keep it for another three years."
She said she enjoys doing her job.
"I can literally say that no matter what has come my way, I consider it a privilege."
The Project co-host Jesse Mulligan also asked Ardern if she believed National leader Judith Collins when she says she's "having fun" as Opposition leader.
"I do know sometimes she says it through a bit of a gritted grin," Ardern said.
She added the election campaign between her and Collins has been well-mannered.
"Obviously we've sparred, but actually by and large I do think the campaign's been pretty civilised as far as they go."
