TVNZ's first Colmar Brunton poll since the election has Labour on 53 percent and National on 25 percent.
Judith Collins has plunged further in the preferred Prime Minister stakes at just 12 percent, dropping 8 percentage points.
Jacinda Ardern on the other hand saw a 3 percentage point increase as preferred Prime Minister and is sitting at 58 percent.
David Seymour showed with 4 percent support as preferred Prime Minister, and new National MP Christopher Luxon was on 2 percent, more than Winston Peters' 1 percent support.
First political poll this term:

- ACT 8 percent
- NZ First 2 percent
- Māori Party 2 percent
- New Conservatives 1 percent
- Unsure 3 percent
- Refused to answer 5 percent
The poll is the first since Labour won the election on 17 October. With 50 percent of votes, Labour was the first party since MMP was introduced to be able to govern alone.
It secured more of the vote count than TVNZ's polls leading up to the election had indicated it would. Its polls prior to the election often had Labour hovering around 46-47 percent and National on about 31-33 percent.
The official results had National on 25.6 percent, the Green Party on 7.9 percent, ACT on 7.6 percent and the Māori Party on 1.2 percent.
