Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield and Medsafe group manager Chris James are revealing how New Zealand's first COVID-19 vaccine got approved.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been given provisional approval and the first jabs will go to managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) cleaners, nurses, security staff and those who undertake health checks, as well as Customs and border officials and airline staff.
Dr Bloomfield and James will outline the process involved in making sure a vaccine is safe and effective, and the conditions on approval.
