Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is giving an update on the COVID-19 community outbreak at her post-Cabinet press conference in Wellington.
It comes a day after Ardern announced that Auckland would go into a three day alert level 3 lockdown - while the rest of the country is at alert level 2 - after a Papatoetoe High School student and her parents tested positive for COVID-19.
Genome sequencing has found that the trio have caught the highly transmissible UK variant of the coronavirus. It also found no link to managed isolation and quarantine (MIQ) facilities.
No new community cases were announced by the Ministry of Health on Monday.
