The Ministry of Health registered 14 new community cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, down from 15 new cases on Tuesday and 30 new cases on Monday.
The Government has made an in-principle decision to shift Auckland to alert level 3 next week, depending on how the outbreak is looking on Monday when Cabinet meets to review the settings.
The Prime Minister will also respond to Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States signing a new defence pact.
