COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins is making an international border announcement and providing an update on the COVID-19 Delta outbreak.
The Ministry of Health registered 215 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, 196 in Auckland, four in Northland, 11 in Waikato, one in Bay of Plenty and two in Rotorua.
More than 90 percent of the eligible population have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in New Zealand so far, while 84 percent are fully vaccinated.
More than 1.4 million people have downloaded a My Vaccine Pass, in time for the country's move next Friday to the new COVID Protection, or 'traffic light' system, to replace the alert levels.
