Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is holding her weekly post-Cabinet press conference at the Beehive in Wellington. Ardern is joined by Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield.
The Prime Minister will provide an update on COVID-19 traffic light settings, confirming if there are any regions that can shift down to the less restrictive 'orange' level.
Indoor gathering limits are scrapped at orange, along with the requirement for guests at hospitality venues to be seated and separated. Masks are still required in most indoor settings like retail and flights.
It comes as the number of new COVID-19 cases at the weekend dropped below 10,000 for the first time since February 24, when 6137 cases were reported.
It also comes eight hours before vaccine passes are no longer required to enter close contact businesses like hairdressers and cafes.
