The Health Minister has had to go home after finding out he is a household COVID-19 contact.
Andrew Little, who was at an event in Auckland on Wednesday morning, wrote on Twitter that he had been notified he is a household contact for someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
"I've cancelled my programme and am returning home by car immediately, and I'll be following the rules to keep our community safe," the minister said.
A number of MPs and ministers have had to isolate this year either for having COVID-19 or being household contacts to those with the virus.
Little announced on Wednesday that a taskforce is being set up to address lengthy hospital waiting lists.
