National MP Sam Uffindell has spoken to the media after revelations he was expelled from an Auckland school more than 20 years ago following a violent assault.
Party leader Christopher Luxon has conceded Tauranga voters should have been made aware of it before this year's by-election.
Uffindell only apologised to the victim last year, prompting questions about whether the apology was politically motivated.
