This week the Oranga Tamariki Oversight Bill passed its third reading, bringing about significant changes to how the agency is monitored.
The Children's Commissioner will be stripped of her power to investigate Oranga Tamariki and oversight will be split between a new independent monitor and the Ombudsman - moves that have been roundly criticised.
