National Party candidate Stephen Jack re-shared a post on social media that likened Jacinda Ardern to Adolf Hitler.
It comes after the Taieri candidate came under fire for sharing what was labelled as a sexist joke on Facebook.
On Sunday, Stuff revealed Jack shared a video in 2020 which contained the joke: "I like my COVID like I like my women. 19. And easy to spread."
Jack has since removed the video but now another post has come to light.
In 2021, Jack reposted a poem on his personal Facebook account originally shared by an Otago farmer. In the since-deleted post, which Newshub has seen, it likened former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to Hitler.
"Cindy's showing us her colours; we know why she chose red. She started out a communist and lately this has spread," the poem read.
"Just as Hitler had the SS, our prime minister's on the job. She's given up on the police and bought the Mongrel Mob."
The SS is an abbreviation for Schutzstaffel which was a military unit of the Nazi Party that served as Hitler's bodyguard and a special police force.
The poem also took aim at then-Environment Minister James Shaw, calling him a "clown" who "don't like farmers", and also at current Environment Minister David Parker, stating: "I'd like to leave my carbon footprint on David Parker's arse."
After this story was published, National released a statement saying Jack had resigned as the party's candidate for Taieri.
