Accused Labour bully Shanan Halbert has finally broken his silence but only after appearing to try evade Newshub's camera.
The Northcote MP was at a local debate on Monday night and so too was Newshub's Lloyd Burr, who went to ask Halbert about allegations made about his behaviour towards former employees.
Newshub last week revealed multiple former employees have accused Halbert of being a bully. It led Labour leader Chris Hipkins to urge anyone who might have felt treated badly by Halbert to come forward and engage in an anonymous process.
After getting little from Halbert as he entered the debate hall, Burr waited for him to leave the debate so he could ask more questions.
That's when things took a bizarre turn. A supporter appeared to act as a decoy to distract Burr, while a kerfuffle broke out outside a bakehouse involving a Labour supporter and a National Party insider.
