Those who have enrolled to vote in Election 2023 may be keeping an eager eye on their mailbox, waiting for their EasyVote pack to arrive.
For most Kiwis, it will have already arrived. But what if it hasn't?
There are 10 days until voting closes and many Kiwis have contacted Newshub concerned about not yet receiving their EasyVote pack.
An EasyVote pack will tell a voter how to vote, who their candidates are and when they can vote. It also includes an EasyVote card, which makes voting quicker at the polling booth.
But the EasyVote pack and card are not a must.
The Electoral Commission says whether a voter has their EasyVote card or not, they can still vote, as long as they're eligible to do so.
"You don’t need to wait for your EasyVote card to vote. If you haven’t got your card, staff at the voting place will ask for your name and address and look you up on the electoral roll to make sure you receive the correct voting papers," said Commission chief electoral officer Karl Le Quesne
Earlier in the week, Le Quesne said no ID is required, just the voter.
Once someone arrives at a polling booth without an EasyVote card, staff will ask for their name and address, and they will be searched in the electoral roll.
If staff can't find a voter on the electoral roll, they will get the voter to fill out a declaration, and their vote will be a special vote.
The special votes will be counted in the official count after the election.
The Commission said more than 3.4 million EasyVote packs will be sent out, with about 2 million already delivered.
A spokesperson said most of the packs are being delivered on time, but a production issue has caused delays for those in Epsom, Mount Albert and Papakura electorates.
