The election is over but a new poll shows there has been a shift in support for minor parties.
The latest poll has seen NZ First overtake its coalition partner ACT as support rises for Winston Peters' party.
NZ First is polling 8.1 percent, up two points, compared to ACT which fell two points to 6.2 percent, according to figures from the latest Curia poll for corporate clients, as reported by the NZ Herald.
Meanwhile, on the left side of the political spectrum, Te Pāti Māori has jumped 1.6 points to 5 percent, while the Greens have dropped 3 points to 10.8 percent.
The major parties remained relatively the same with National falling half a point to 36.5 percent, while Labour went up half a point to 28.8 percent.
However, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's popularity has slipped three points in the preferred prime minister poll to 30 percent. Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Chris Hipkins went up five points to 22 percent.
The polling period was December 3-5. Curia polls for the National Party and conducts the monthly Taxpayers' Union poll.
