Police have revealed the fourth shoplifting charge against former Green MP Golriz Ghahraman relates to a new store in the Auckland suburb of Newmarket.
"This is alleged to have occurred in Newmarket on 22 December 2023 and was reported to Police in late January," a police spokesperson said.
Court documents obtained by Newshub reveal the store at the centre of the fourth charge is Standard Issue.
It's alleged Ghahraman stole a navy cardigan valued at $389, according to the documents.
Ghahraman was expected to appear in court on Wednesday, but this has now been delayed, again, until March 20. This marks the second time Ghahraman's court date has been pushed back.
Ghahraman was initially charged with stealing close to $10,000 worth of items from two different stores.
Court documents released to the media show the value of the goods Ghahraman allegedly stole in the first three charges.
She was accused of stealing $691 worth of clothing from Wellington's CRE8IVEWORX on October 22.
She is also charged with the theft of $2060 worth of goods from Scotties Boutique in Ponsonby on December 21 and another $7223 worth of goods two days later.
She was accused of stealing $9974 worth of items before details of the fourth charge emerged.
Such charges carry a maximum penalty of seven years in prison if convicted.
Ghahraman resigned from her role as an MP on January 16, citing mental health issues as a contributing stressor that led to her acting "completely out of character".
